Frequently Asked Questions

Common Inquiries

What happens during our initial consultation?

Our first session is a gentle, collaborative conversation. We will explore what brings you to therapy, discuss your concerns and goals, and get a sense of whether we are a good fit to work together. You are welcome to share at your own pace, with no pressure to have everything figured out.

Is my personal information kept confidential?

Yes. Everything you share is kept private except in rare situations where there is a serious risk of harm, legal obligations that require disclosure, or there is a duty to protect a vulnerable person. These limits will be explained clearly before we begin.

How do we determine if we are a good fit?

A strong therapeutic relationship is important for meaningful progress. During our initial sessions, we will explore whether my approach and style feel supportive and aligned with your needs. There is no pressure or obligation to continue if it does not feel like the right fit for you.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions varies from person to person and depends on your goals, concerns, and pace. Some clients may benefit from short-term support around a specific issue, while others may prefer longer-term therapy for deeper exploration and personal growth. We will regularly review your progress together.

Do I need to be in crisis to seek counselling or therapy?

Not at all. Therapy is not only for times of crisis. Many people seek counselling for support, self-discovery, personal growth, or to better understand their thoughts, emotions, and relationships.

What if I feel nervous or scared about starting therapy?

Feeling nervous or uncertain about therapy is very common, especially in the beginning. You are welcome to come as you are, and we will move at a pace that feels comfortable and safe for you.

How do I book a session?

You are welcome to contact me by WhatsApp, email or the contact form. We'll arrange an initial consultation to explore your needs and determine whether we're a good fit before deciding how to proceed.

How long is each session?

Standard sessions are 60 minutes. Extended 90-minute sessions are available upon request and can be discussed based on your needs and preferences.

What if I don't know where to begin or what to talk about?

That's completely okay. Many people come to therapy feeling unsure of where and how to start or what to say. There is no right or wrong place to begin. We can simply talk about whatever feels most present for you, and allow the conversation to unfold naturally, at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
